Thiruvananthapuram: Kattakada Christian College principal-in-charge G J Shaiju has been removed from office for his alleged role in the SFI impersonation row. The decision was made in the Kerala University syndicate meeting held on Saturday (May 21).

Kerala University Registrar has lodged a complaint to the district police chief, state police chief and Kattakada Police alleging impersonation, breach of trust, conspiracy, and forgery. The complainant also alleged that the principal-in-charge had forwarded the incorrect names to University in relation to the UUC election.

Earlier, it has come to light that the college had forwarded SFI area secretary Vishakh’s name in place of Anakha, who was elected as the councillor in the university union elections held on December 22, 2022. Further, the college authorities also replaced her photo in the final list. However, a teacher who acted as the returning officer in the elections revealed that Anakha had won the election.
