A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting led by the Cochin devaswom board here on Monday. Following this, the SFI activists have withdrawn their protest against the appointment.

Reportedly, research students will take the classes until a final decision is taken at the higher level.

The interview for the post of guest lecturer in the department of political science took place on May 28. However, the rank list was not published till November.

Meanwhile, the first rank holder joined as a lecturer at Palakkad Mercy College. It is alleged that the head of the department pressurised the first rank holder to give the appointment to SFI leader AE Ajith who secured the second rank.
