Sexist remarks: Jhingan once again tenders apology as his family members face wrath of Blasters fans

Madgaon: Evoked by the wrath of netizens towards ATK Mohun Bagan centre-back Sandesh Jhingan over his sexist remarks, the player has come up with a video tendering his apology for his words.

The player was in bad light for terming ATK Mohun Bagan’s draw against Kerala Blasters in Indian Super League (ISL) as "Aurato ke saath match khel aaya hoon, aurato ke saath”, which translates to “I have played a match with women, with women”. Jhingan made this remarks while returning to dressing room after the match. The comment which was captured on video was widely shared and the player received severe flak in social media. Kerala Blasters fan page 'Manjapada' also condemned the remarks of Jhingan, who is a former player of Blasters. Many unfollowed the player’s Instagram profile. Later his profile was disappeared from online for some time.

The player initially apologized on Twitter and said that his remarks were part of a verbal conflict with a co-player. He informed that he never meant to belittle Kerala Blasters. Later when his family members were also targeted over the remarks, the player came up with a video seeking apology from netizens. In the video he admitted that it was mistake and assured that he will not repeat it. He also urged netizens to stay away from humiliating his family.
