Idukki: The youths, Peermade native Anju and Attoram native Selvan, who went missing from Parunthumpara here on May 18, 2020, remain untraceable.

The investigation is being led by Peermade DySP J Kuriakose. The police had received hints about their presence in Parunthumpara and Selvan’s car was found parked in the area. The duo’s cell phones were last active at Parunthumpara. The police had searched all the areas where the duo are probable of going but to no avail.

As per the latest development, Kerala Armed Police (KAP) 5 Battalion (High-altitude rescue team) descended 800 feet opposite Parunthumpara and searched over an area of one-kilometre radius. However, no trace of the duo was found even after hours of search. The search was led by Starmon R Pillai, KAP assistant commandant.
