Scuffle between A, I group members during Congress committee meeting at Kadungalloor
Kochi: The Congress committee meeting at Kadungalloor here on Saturday witnessed a scuffle between A and I group members. Mathrubhumi News received visuals of the fight between the party members.
According to reports, a dispute between the groups has been prevalent in Kadungalloor region for a long time. Now, the dispute resulted in a clash between the groups at a time when the state is gearing up for elections.
The two Congress group members created the ruckus when the party organized a meeting to officially appoint newly elected office bearers. Congress (A) group is administering the committee here.
The party was divided into two committees in Kadungalloor panchayat. Congress (I) group members staged a protest at the meeting as they failed to get representation in the administration committees.
When the east constituency committee of Congress summoned a meeting, the Congress (I) group summoned another meeting. Following this, Congress (I) group members created a ruckus at the oath-taking ceremony of new office bearers.
They interrupted the meeting and tried to snatch the minutes of the meeting. Following this, the meeting venue witnessed a scuffle and members of both groups fought against each other.
Congress (I) group members alleged that people accused in criminal cases were promoted as office bearers. They also criticized the Congress (A) group members for taking a stand that helped the LDF. Congress (I) group has forwarded a letter to KPCC by raising these issues.
