Kerala: Digital clinics in schools before reopening on June 1

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of Education V Sivankutty stated that the schools will reopen for the next academic year on June 1 itself. The reopening will take place with a grand ‘Pravesanolsavam’ in schools.

The services of digital clinics will be available in schools before the reopening to ensure the digital apparatuses are functional. Minister informed that detailed guidelines will be published to revamp the parents and teachers association.

A meeting of teachers’ unions, higher officials and all agencies, including SCERT and SSK, will be summoned prior to reopening. Programmes for giving special consideration to the differently-abled students will be introduced in the next academic year.

Minister also warned the education institutions which impose huge fees on the students. Severe actions will be followed if such actions are identified, added Sivankutty. A total number of schools functioning without government approval will be counted and the Director of Public Education will look into them.

In May, workshops will be conducted in the schools to prepare academic master plans. The training for teachers for classes 1 to 7 will be held in May while the other teachers can attend after the evaluation of annual examination papers. Minister affirmed that the textbooks will be distributed to all students before June 1.
