Thiruvananthapuram: Digital classes will begin in Kerala on June 1. The pravesanolsavam or the welcome ceremony will be held for children who will enter the field for the first time. Chief minister Pinarayi VIjayan will welcome the children virtually.

It is learnt that over 3.5 lakh will be present in class One this academic year. The state-level inauguration will be digitally held at the Cotton Hills School in Thiruvananthapuram.

Even last year, students depend on online class due to the covid pandemic. The trial classes will be held through Victers channel. After two weeks, revision will be done. And only after this, actual classes will commence. Besides classes through Victers channel, the respective schools have been directed to take classes, the government circular said.

The distribution of note books will be completed by June 15 and uniform distribution too will be done as usual. In schools which have common uniform, students will be given Rs 600 per head instead of uniform cloth.
