P Ramachnadra handing over purse to Abdul Muneeb
Vidyanagar: In an exemplary display of honesty, a school van driver returned a lost wallet containing Rs. 12,500 and other important documents to its owner in Kasaragod’s Eriyal. He found the owner of the wallet after handing it over to the police.
P Ramachandra(Chanthu), a native of Koppa, who works as a van driver at Thanbeehul Islam Central School on Friday happened to see an unattended wallet in the premises of the bus waiting shed in Eriyal. The wallet carried cash, ATM cards, driving license, health card and residence permit card of Saudi Arabia. After recovering the wallet, Chanthu rushed to the police station and handed it over to the assistant sub-inspector of police at Eriyal.
From documents, police identified that PM Abdul Muneeb is the owner of the wallet. Later, the person was called up to the police station and Chanthu handed over the wallet to him in the presence of the officials. Representative of Chengala panchayat was also present there.
