Schools in Malappuram to reopen on June 6

Malappuram: The District collector has informed that the schools in Malappuram district will reopen only on June 6.

The order directs that all educational institutions, including Anganwadis and tuition centres, should be closed till June 5.

Earlier, the district collector informed that the schools in Kozhikode and Malappuram district will reopen on June 5.

But the collector extended the reopening date considering Nipah virus outbreak in the district.

The decision was taken to control the spread of Nipah virus. The government has also cancelled all programmes in Kozhikode district until further notice.
