New Delhi: CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday said that the Supreme Court verdict and the Kerala government’s stance, on allowing entry of women of all age groups in Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, are entirely different.

The SC verdict was after considering the constitutional values. The stance of CPM or the LDF government has not played any part in it, he added while speaking in an interview with Mathrubhumi News.

However, he didn’t give clarity on the demand that has arisen in Kerala regarding a new affidavit by the state government opposing the women entry. Politics can’t be mixed with religious beliefs. Muslim league is part of UDF. They call themselves a secular party, Yechury alleged while responding to the question on LDF state convener A Vijayaraghavan’s remark that League was a communalist party.

He also alleged that for BJP, everything is a deal and they buy everything with money.
