New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a review petition filed by Dr Rajasree MS over the apex court annulling her appointment as the vice-chancellor of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The bench comprising Justice MR Shah and CT Ravikumar dismissed the petition.
The court stated that Rajasree was not eligible for a pension for her tenure as VC. However, it noted that the verdict does not mention reclaiming the salary she drew while serving in the post.
In October, the Supreme Court sacked Dr Rajasree MS, citing a violation of UGC norms. The apex court observed that the search committee to select the VC did not recommend three names to the Chancellor as stipulated by the UGC. Instead, it unanimously recommended Rajasree.

She also argued that she cannot be punished for the mistake of the selection committee. She pointed out that she was humiliated in front of coworkers and students by the Supreme Court verdict.
Meanwhile, the review petition filed by the state government in the case is yet to be listed before the Supreme Court bench.
