SC defers Lavalin case again; next hearing on April 6
New Delhi: The hearing in the controversial SNC-Lavalin case involving Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been postponed again by the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The petition filed by Central Bureau of Investigation against dropping Vijayan from the list of accused was to be considered by the apex court today.
However, the CBI sought postponing the hearing following which it was postponed to April 6. This is the 27th time, the petition is being deferred by SC.
It was the additional solicitor general who appeared in court for the CBI today. He requested for a full-day hearing of the case next week. This request was initially rejected by SC. The apex court asked if solicitor general is so busy, couldn’t the case be considered as the last case for Tuesday.
But it was informed that the time wouldn’t be enough to hear the full petition and was deferred to April 6 informing additional solicitor general there was no time slot for hearing in March.
