Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Schools plan to create human chains on the occasion of Kerala Piravi (Formation) Day on November 1 to create awareness about drug abuse and illicit trafficking among children in the state.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday.

Students, parents and alumni will form human chains in schools and would burn drug products as a sign of protest. Meanwhile, the government has decided to launch a campaign against drug use from October 1 onwards.
