Kozhikode: The Muslim League on Wednesday rebuffed talks of leaving the United Democratic Front and said the party is satisfied with the explanation given by Congress on "pro-RSS" remarks made by KPCC president K Sudhakaran.

"Panakkad Sadiq Ali Thangal and PK Kunhalikutty held talks with K Sudhakaran," said Muslim League general secretary PMA Salam.

"We are convinced with the explanation given by Congress. It is now up to Congress to deal with the situation. We hope they do what is right," he said.

Muslim League had not hidden its dissatisfaction towards Sudhakaran's remarks and called for a high-level meeting to address the issue. It is learned that senior Congress leader KC Venugopal and others spoke with Muslim League leaders and explained the situation.

Meanwhile, CPM state secretary MV Govindan said it is up to the League to decide if they should continue in the front.
