Kottyam: Opposition leader VD Satheesan met Oommen Chandy at his residence in Puthupally on Sunday morning and had a brief closed-door discussion for half an hour. The meeting was held in the wake of the ongoing controversy surrounding the election of DCC Presidents in the state. Earlier, VD Satheesan and K Sudhakaran stated that they are ready to discuss and solve the issues with senior leaders of the party.
After the meeting, both leaders addressed the media. “ I have the freedom to visit Puthupally without consent. Any differences between the senior leaders will be resolved and that is what every party members expect," Satheesan said.
He stated that it is their responsibility to resolve issues that affect the party. “Congress has had problems like this before and the issues were resolved in time. My job is not to respond to every remark made by Congress leaders. My focus is to respond to the Chief Minister and the BJP,” he added.
Oommen Chandy said that there were some problems in Congress and it was painful to have such a difficult situation. He added that he agrees with what the opposition leader said about resolving the issue through discussion.
