As per reports, chief secretary VP Joy issued the order ending the disciplinary action taken against the officer and warned him not to repeat similar acts.

Earlier, a department-level inquiry was conducted against Jayanath following allegations that the officer failed to follow the directions from the police headquarters, when Loknath Behera was the state police chief.

The officer has been warned and excluded from action on the basis of the inquiry report by ADGP S Sreejith.
