Sample fireworks to begin for Thrissur Pooram today

Thrissur: The first round of sample fireworks of Thrissur Pooram will begin at 7 pm on Friday. The arrangements for the fireworks and Chamayam exhibition were completed by Thursday evening. This year, Thiruvambady will be the first to light the fire, followed by Paramekkavu.

The fireworks display of the Paramekkavu Devaswom is being led by pyrotechnician PC Varghese, while that of Thiruvambady is headed by Mundathikkodu Satheesan. Varieties of fireworks, including ‘amittu’, ‘gundu’ an ‘kuzhi minnal’ will light up the sky on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, the ‘Chamayam’ exhibition of Thiruvambadi camp began around 10 am at Kausthubham auditorium. As part of the sample fireworks, vehicles will not be allowed into the ground from 3 pm on Friday.

Traffic regulations have been imposed in Thrissur city and vehicle parking will not be permitted in the Swaraj Round and Thekkinkadu Maidan from morning onwards.
