Thiruvananthapuram: Sandeep, the accused in the killing of Dr Vandana Das in Kottarakkara, continues to behave in a contradictory and unsound manner in the prison, said police.

The accused is currently inside a special cell at the Poojappura Central Jail. On Thursday morning, the jail doctor carried out his primary examination and found out that he had a fracture on his leg.

However, he does not suffer from any further health issues and hence need not be shifted to the hospital, said the jail authorities.

Meanwhile, the accused is under stringent CCTV surveillance and there has been no change in his behaviour from that of the previous day. Several officers have also been assigned to monitor him.

Cherukarakonam native Sandeep, who brutally stabbed the young doctor to death on Wednesday, was brought to Poojappura Central Jail the other day after he was remanded by the court.
