Kozhikode: Munavvar Ali Thangal and Rasheed Ali Thangal have withdrawn from the Mujahid conference. They decided to stay away from the conference considering Samastha's stand. They have informed the organisers that they would not take part in the conference.
Samastha had stated that no Sunni leader would take part in the Mujahid conference. The Mujahid leadership invited Panakkad Sadiq Ali Thangal to the conference, but he declined the invitation.
However, the names of Youth League state president Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal and Waqf Board former chairman Rasheed Ali Thangal were included in a notice stating that they would participate in the conference.
But the leaders informed that they would not participate considering Samastha's stand and the controversies surrounding the conference. Munavvar Ali Thangal has informed that he is abroad and Rasheed Ali Thangal has stated some inconvenience.
