Kozhikode: Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama (Samastha) president Jifri Muthukoya Thangal and general secretary Ali Kutty Musliyar announced their resignation from the advisory committee of Coordination of Islamic Colleges (CIC) following an apparent disagreement with Muslim League state president Panakkad Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal.

The leaders quit the panel marking their protest against Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, alleging that the leader has been making arbitrary decisions without consulting with Samastha leaders. Jifri Muthukoya Thangal resigned from the CIC advisory committee while Ali Kutty Musliyar quit from the position at the CIC examination board.

Samastha and CIC already had differences of opinion regarding women's education and other matters. Following this, in February, another leader, Hakeem Faizy Adrisseri had tendered resignation from the post of CIC general secretary. Muslim League approved his intimation the other day. The new resignations come amid this.
