Thiruvananthapuram: Minister Saji Cheriyan stated that the government would not disclose the Hema Committee report. He questioned the intentions behind those who demand to release the report. Justice Hema herself had demanded to keep the report under the veil, said the minister.

The prime focus should be to ensure safety for the women who work in the film industry. But the intentions of those who demand to reveal the report remain suspicious. He said that the state government has approved the content of the report.

Unfortunately, several reports of exploitation in the film field are surfacing even though a law exists to assure the safety of women in the workplace. Therefore, a more stringent law on this issue has to be evolved and implemented, said Saji Cheriyan.
