Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan said that minister Saji Cheriyan should resign from his post for disrespecting the constitution. His remark came in the backdrop of the State Fisheries and Culture minister criticizing the Indian Constitution at a recent political programme at Mallappally.

Satheesan said they would legally move against Saji Cheriyan if he does not resign from his post.

"They are intentionally trying to shift the attention of people away from real issues faced by the government. However, choosing to criticize the constitution was cruel," he said. Satheesan added that Saji Cheriyan detests the constitution.

Satheesan questioned if Saji Cheriyan is aware of the greatness of the Supreme law. The Indian administrative structure is thought out and shaped by eminent and scholarly elites. Saji Cherian insulted them too, Satheesan added.
