Kochi: Retired High Court judge B Kemal Pasha slammed Kerala Minister for Fisheries and Culture, Saji Cheriyan, for his remarks on the Constitution of India. According to Pasha, Cherian acted against the oath. “He should not continue in the position,” he said.

Pasha has urged the CM to demand Cheriyan’s resignation “or else, it will send a message that even CM has the same take on Constitution.”

“There are many idiots outside. They can make such statements. However, a minister and judge is not supposed to do that,” he added.

Pasha pointed out that Cheriyan's statements cannot be belittled as an issue which the government take case for slamming the administration.

Cherian, a two-time legislator from the Chengannur Assembly constituency in Alappuzha district, while taking part in a meeting at Pathanamthitta, had said, "The Indian Constitution is not fair to the labour class as there is no protection for them."

He slammed the judiciary and said, "In labour cases the courts are favourable to the business people and that's what has helped the Adanis and Ambanis."
