Sabarimala to open on Tuesday, 15,000 devotees allowed per day

Thiruvananthapuram: The sanctum sanctorum of Sabarimala to open for rituals of the ‘Painkuni Uthram’ and ‘Meenam’ month of Malayalam calendar on March 8 at 5 pm. From 7 pm onwards, the ‘Prasadasudhikriya’ will start. The devotees will be allowed for Darshan from March 9 onwards. About 15,000 devotees will be allowed to enter the temple through the virtual queue system. A spot booking facility will also be provided at Nilakkal.

On Wednesday, as soon as the sanctum sanctorum is opened, the usual ‘Abhishekam’, ‘Bimbasudhukriya’, ‘Kodiyett Pooja’ and other rituals will be carried out. The ‘Kodiyett’ will be between 10.30 am and 11.30 am.

‘Pallivetta’ will be on 17 and ‘Aarattu’ on 18 at Pamba in the afternoon. As soon as the procession returns to the Sannidhanam, the ‘Kodiyirang’ ritual will be held. On 19, the sanctum sanctorum will close at 10 pm singing ‘Harivarasansam.’
