Pathanamthitta: The Sabarimala temple doors were opened on Tuesday for special pujas for the Malayalam month of Meenam. The shrine was opened and a lamp was lit by chief priest K Jayaraman Namboothiri in the presence of Tantri Kandararu Maheswararu at 5 pm.

As per reports, an estimated 3,862 devotees visited the shrine on Tuesday. The temple doors will be opened at 5 am on Wednesday. Mahaganpati Homam will be held at 5.30 am, followed by Neyyabhishekam and Usha Puja will begin at 7.30 am.

The entry to the shrine shall be facilitated through virtual queues whereas spot booking facilities have been arranged at Nilakkal. Around 7,500 devotees have booked for darshan on Wednesday.
