Sabarimala: Marking the conclusion of this year’s Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season, ‘Guruthi’ (a ritual seeking blessings of Hill Gods ) was conducted at Malikappuram near Lord Ayyappa temple.
The temple doors opened on Thursday 5 AM. Following that ‘Nirmalyam’ and usual ‘Abhishekam’ was held. ‘Ganapathi Homam’ at 5:15 AM will be followed by the return journey carrying the ‘Thiruvabharanam’ scheduled around at 6:00 AM.
The next opening of temple doors has been scheduled for February 12 when there will be Kumbha month (a month as per Malayalam calendar) poojas.
