Sabarimala: Sabarimala temple doors have been closed after Chithira Attavishesha Puja. The doors were closed after the conduct of ‘Kalabhabhishekam’, ‘Irupathianju Kalasha Pooja’ and ‘Udayasthamana Pooja’ in the presence of Tantri (Chief Priest) Kandararu Maheswararu Mohanararu on Wednesday. Similarly, after ‘Deeparadhana’ in the evening, the ‘Padi Pooja’ was also held.

From Wednesday morning itself, there was heavy rush of devotees in the temple. It is estimated that more than ten thousand individuals visited the temple. Among them, majority were from other states. After the completion of ‘poojas’, the doors were closed at 9 PM by rendering Harivarasanam.

The temple will reopen for Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage and festival on November 15.
