Sabarimala receives Rs 10 cr worth coins as offerings during pilgrimage season

Pathanamthitta: After days of hard work, Travancore Devaswom Board employees have finally completed counting the total number of coins received as offerings at the Sabarimala temple.

After counting, the total offerings amounts to Rs 10 crore, including offerings received during monthly poojas before the start of mandalam season.

In two phases, 1220 employees were employed in Sabarimala to count coins. Employees spend 9 hours a day counting the coins. Rs 1, Rs 2, Rs 5 and Rs 10 coins are first put in a machine to separate them and are counted afterwards.
