Sabarimala ready for Makaravilakku; temple doors to reopen today

Sabarimala: The arrangements for Makaravilakku fest began in Sabarimala and Sannidhanam. The festival is on January 14 and lakhs of pilgrims will visit the temple in the coming days. The arrangements are in full swing.

The temple doors of Lord Ayyappa temple closed after mandala season and will reopen on Friday at 05:00 pm. This will be done by Kantaru Rajeevaru.

Following that head priest Hariharan Namboothiri will be given the key and holy ash for opening the shrine of Malikappurathamma. After the rituals, devotees will be able to climb the Pathinettampadi (18 divine steps).
