Sabarimala: Preparations for Mandala Pooja completed; restrictions imposed for pilgrims

The pilgrims will not be allowed to ascend the 18 steps until the rituals are completed at 6.30 pm. After Uchapooja is over, pilgrims will not be allowed to move from Pamba till the procession sets out at 3 pm from there.

Sabarimala: After 41 days of vratham, Sabarimala temple is all set for Mandala Pooja. The Thankayanki Rathayathra (chariot procession carrying the holy golden robe) that set out from Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple will reach Pamba on December 25 and will be received as per rituals. Mandala Pooja will take place on December 26.

The procession will reach Ganapathi temple in Pamba by 1 pm on Friday. The Thankayanki will be displayed at Ganapathi temple till 3 pm and then will be shifted to a special box. Ayyappa Seva Sangham workers will carry it on head and take to Saramkuthi through the forest path by 5 in the evening.

The Devaswom Board authorities will receive the Thankayanki at Saramkuthi and carry it to Sannidhanam. Tantri and head priest will receive it from Sopanam. Following this, the idol will be adorned with Thankayanki and Deeparadhana will take place at 6.30 pm.
