Kochi: The Kerala High Court has directed devaswom boards concerned to ensure all facilities for Sabarimala pilgrims at transit points (edathavalam) and mandated the Devaswom Commissioner to inform if there are shortcomings in the arrangements.
The Sabarimala bench comprising judges Anil K Narendran and PG Ajithkumar in a suo moto cognizance issued the directions to Travancore and Cochin Devaswoms and Guruvayur Devaswom Managing Committie.
There are 52 transit points under Travancore Devaswom Board and 'annadanam' (food) will be provided at all those points. Cochin Devaswom Board will provide facilities at five points. While food will be provided to Sabarimala pilgrims at Guruvayur temple.
Apart from the virtual queue system, spot booking facility will be made available in five more districts.
Police and forest department will ensure safety and other related facilities.
