Pampa bath had not been allowed for two years in the wake of the Covid outbreak.

Sabarimala: Post rain, the water level in Pamba river has decreased. This has removed many restrictions, allowing devotees to take holy bath in more points of the Pamba river. ‘Balipura’, the place where death rituals are carried out, also became accessible for the public.

Barricades have been set up on the river banks to prevent devotees from going further. One of the important rituals of the Sabarimala pilgrimage is to take a bath in the holy river Pampa before ‘Darshan’.
