Sabarimala nada opened for idol installation day poojas
Sabarimala: The Sabarimala temple nada was opened for idol installation day poojas on Tuesday. Chief priest V N Vasudevan Nambootiri opened the sreekovil nada and lit the lamps in the presence of Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru at 5 pm. The tantric then distributed Vibhooti prasadam to the devotees.
Devotees carrying irumudikkettu (sacred offerings) were allowed to offer darshan after fire was lit in the azhi (lighting the sacred fire) atop the patinettampadi (18 holy steps). No poojas were performed on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Nirmallyam and Abhishekam will be performed after opening the sreekovil nada. Neyyabhishekam will be performed afterwards. Maha Ganapati human will be performed at 5.15. Athazha Pooja will be performed at 7.30 following which idol installation day poojas will be performed.
Sahasrakalasam, Kalabhabhishekam, Padi Pooja, Udayastamana Pooja, Laksharchana and Pushpabhishekam will also be performed.
In the evening, Deeparadhana will be held at 6.30. Athazha Pooja will be performed at 9.20 following which the nada will be closed after chanting Harivarasanam.
The temple nada will be opened at 5.30 pm on June 15 for poojas for the Malayalam month of Mithunam. On June 16 (Mithunam 1), the temple nada will be opened to perform Nirmallyam and Abhishekam. This will be followed by Neyyabhishekam and other daily poojas. Kalabhabhishekam, Padi Pooja and Udayastamana Pooja will be held on all five days the nada remains open.
On Mithunam 2, the nada will be closed after chanting Harivarasanam at 10 pm.
