Sabarimala Karma Samithi leaders plan to meet Governor
Sabarimala: The Sabarimala Karma Samithi leaders are planning to meet the Governor, in the wake of denying permission to BJP leaders to ascend the hills to go to the temple. The meeting is likely to be held at Kottayam guest house on Sunday evening.
The leaders alleged that the regulation has been imposed without any base. They also demanded that the regulations should be lifted. The Karma Samithi leaders will meet the governor, if the office of the governor gives permission, and request to lift the regulations.
Meanwhile, the police informed that their action in Sabarimala will continue. The arrest and preventive detention of leaders will continue in order to stop possible clashes in the hill shrine.
Earlier in the day, BJP leader K Surendran and two others was arrested and later remanded for 14 days when he attempted to go to the temple. The leaders are kept in preventive detention as part of ensuring security in Sabarimala.
Meanwhile, a restriction for devotees has been imposed in Sabarimala during day hours also. The pilgrims will not be allowed to enter from Pampa to Sannidhanam from 11.30 am to 2 pm. In these hours, the pilgrims at Sannidhanam will be allowed to return. The new restriction is to control the heavy rush in Sabarimala, it is learnt.
