Thiruvananthapuram: The considerable reduction in the revenue at Sabarimala temple this Mandalam pilgrimage season will adversely affect Devaswom Board, said Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran.
“The income drop won’t create any crisis for the government. At the same time it will affect the distribution of salaries and other privileges in Devaswom Board,” he said.
RSS and Sangh Parivar are aiming at reducing the revenue at Sabarimala. We are hoping for better revenue in the coming days. Previous years also, Sangh Parivar had tried for the same. If the situation arises for government intervention, then let’s see, he added.
At the same time, BJP leader G Raman Nair responded that minister’s allegations are false. Allegation that RSS is trying to reduce the revenue at Sabarimala, is wrong. Devaswom Board is not arranging facilities for the devotees with the revenue incurred from Sabarimala. They are taking stances against pilgrims with the hundial money. Government is using the Devaswom Board money for other expenses, he alleged.
