Sabarimala: HC curbs elephant parading during Makaravilakku
Kochi: The Kerala High court on Friday issued an order against use of elephants during the Makaravilakku festival of the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple.
However, the court in its order said that an elephant can be used for procession during the annual festival of the temple.
The bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan issued the order while considering a case related to the temple.
The order has been issued after consultation with two priests, the court said.
