Thiruvananthapuram: The Public Works Department has decided to review the condition of the most-travelled 19 roads to Sabarimala temple before the pilgrimage season and start maintenance works. The officers were assigned special charges for this.

Minister PA Mohammed Riyas has issued instructions that the maintenance work of the roads leading to Sabarimala should be completed at the earliest. The minister spoke after the meeting with PWD officials and other representatives.

The minister will review the progress of maintenance works on October 19 and 20. The chief engineers must conduct inspections on October 5 and submit a report.

The minister also said that if the condition of roads is not satisfactory, then further action will be taken.
