Surendran willing to go to jail to protect customs

Pathanamthitta: BJP leader K. Surendran who was arrested and remanded while trying to ascend Sabarimala responded that he will confront the police action against him both legally and politically.

He said that the arrest was a revengeful act of CPM and he is not scared to go to jail. He was addressing the media while being taken to Kottarakkara sub jail after being produced before the magistrate.

‘I am willing to spend an entire lifetime in jail to protect the customs and traditions. The arrest on non-bailable offences is a political move of the CPM. The police have been staging an investigation into the cases charged against me the other day. This is an intentional vengeful act,’ Surendran alleged.

‘The police arrested me and manhandled me brutally. There was no need to force me into a vehicle at 3 am. Though there are no external injuries, I am exhausted after the manhandling. He said that he has been allowed to keep the ‘Irumudikkettu’ in the jail and to pray.
