S Suresh
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state secretary S Suresh was defeated in the election to Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat. Suresh was fielded in Venganoor division of the district panchayat and lost to LDF candidate Bhagath Rufus of LJD.
S Suresh, who is also BJP district secretary, was defeated by over 2000 votes in the division. Congress candidate S Udayakumar was pushed to the third spot.
Venganoor division was the only sitting seat of BJP in Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat. Suresh had contested from the same ward in 2010 and was defeated.
Presently, LDF is leading in 20 divisions of Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat and UDF is leading in 6 divisions.
