Munnar: Former CPM legislator S Rajendran has claimed threat to his life, days after party veteran MM Mani made a speech saying he will shoot the former “if the party asks him to do so”. Rajendran pointed out that Mani’s remarks are not a joke.
“Some party leaders have plotted a witch-hunt against me. Mani and KV Sasi are campaigning against me,” he alleged.
According to Rajendran, attempts are being made to raise personal accusations against him through party committees. He also listed various instances in which he was targeted.
“I have been facing threat to my life. I have not approached any other parties. I will be a CPM activist till my last breath. If the state committee of the party asks me to die, I will agree to it. Those who cannot understand this bond are holding press conferences and making statements against me in public meetings,” he said.
He added that he will file a complaint with state leadership against Mani and Sasi.
