Kochi: The investigation report against Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan over the irregularities in Kollam S. N. College golden jubilee funds has been submitted to the crime branch chief for final approval.
After inspection, the crime branch chief will decide if a charge sheet should be filed of more investigation needs to be held. The High Court had directed the crime branch to submit the investigation report.
The allegation is that Vellappally Natesan swindled the Kollam S. N. College’s golden jubilee funds. The investigation was initiated in 2004 following a court directive. The government informed the HC that the investigation report has been submitted to the crime branch chief for final approval. The court recorded the same in its interim order.
Further action in the case will be taken after the crime branch chief’s approval. If the charge sheet is approved, the report will be submitted to the HC. If more investigation is required, the matter will be informed to the court.
A contempt of court petition was filed in HC after the investigation was completed and a report was submitted at the crime branch headquarters but no follow up action was taken.
After the government informed that a final report is ready, the HC directed the government to submit the same to the court.
While celebrating the golden jubilee celebration in 1997-98, Kollam S. N. College had decided to construct an auditorium and library complex. An exhibition was organized to raise funds besides collecting donations. It is alleged that Vellappally Natesan swindled the fund which was deposited at South Indian Bank in Kollam.
The investigation, which was initiated 15-years ago has been completed now.
