Koorachundu (Kozhikode): A 27-year-old Russian woman, who arrived in Kerala from Qatar along with a Malayali youth, was found injured and rushed to the Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode. The incident took place on Wednesday noon near Koorachundu, Kozhikode.

According to locals, the woman jumped off the terrace of a house. Hospital authorities, however, said that the injuries were not caused by such an impact. “We have not registered a case in the incident. As the woman only speaks Russian, a translator has been arranged to aid in recording her statement,” said Koorachundu inspector KP Sunil Kumar

According to reports, the woman arrived in Kerala last month. She was accompanied by a Malayali youth, a native of Kalangali. The duo got engaged in a verbal spat inside a car near Kaithakkal on Monday. Soon after, the locals, who saw the woman getting out of the car crying, informed Perambra police.

Although the police arrived at the spot and asked the duo to come to the police station, they drove off to Kozhikode. Earlier, the youth’s parents had approached the police following issues at their house since the arrival of the woman. “They (the parents) later moved to another house,” said the police.
