Rumours on denial of ration to those who didn't buy free food kit are baseless, says Govt
Thiruvananthapuram: The government has informed that rumours on denial of ration supply to those who did not purchase the food kit are baseless. It was found that some of the ration cardholders have not been buying ration and free food kit for 6 months. The government will review their priority status.
About 30,000 families in the priority category are not taking ration supply continuously. It is injustice to waste their ration share when many other families are in the waiting list of priority group. The details of these cardholders will be inspected and ineligible families will be replaced with other eligible families.
The government's decision in this regard was widely misinterpreted and resulted in rumours. A notice will be issued to the cardholders who fail to buy ration supply and their complaints will be heard before removing them from the priority category.
