Kozhikode: Revealing the names of the interview board members of the faculty selection committee may endanger the lives of the members, stated the University of Calicut.

The University said this in a reply to an RTI query of Dr Bindu M P, who was a candidate for the selection of faculty members to the Department of Education.

“Revealing the name is a threat to the life and physical wellbeing of the members” and the information was denied as per Section 8 (1) (g) in the Right To Information Act, 2005, the University said.

Bindu had to approach the state information commissioner to get a reply from the University. The RTI was filed to aid the case against the appointments in the Kerala High Court.

Bindu wanted to know the mark given to each candidate by each member of the committee. University clarified that the marks without mentioning the names of the committee members can be given.
