RT-PCR test mandatory for people coming to Kerala from other states
Thiruvananthapuram: Considering the Covid surge in Kerala, the government has imposed more restrictions to prevent transmission of the pandemic.
The health department issued an order making RT-PCR test mandatory for the people who are coming from other states to Kerala. The test should be subjected within 48 hours of the journey or as soon as reaching Kerala, the order directs.
Those who did not undergo RT-PCR test should remain in quarantine for 14 days. Also the people who are subjected to RT-PCR test after reaching Kerala should remain in room quarantine until the result is given. Testing is mandatory for those who received Covid vaccine also.
People who test negative for Covid in RT-PCR test should strictly follow Covid protocols like wearing mask and maintaining social distancing. If they happen to show symptoms, they should inform the health department and also get medical treatment, the order directed.
