Thiruvananthapuram: At a time when Congress chief and Opposition leader VD Satheesan is facing criticism for his association at RSS event earlier, he has hit out at CPM loyalists who are spreading false news against him. Satheesan pointed out that he attended the same event which was attended by the CPM stalwart VS Achuthanandan himself.

Referring to the CPM mouthpiece Deshabhimani’s criticism against him, Satheesan said the same criticisms are applicable to VS Achuthanandan too.

He elaborated on the event and said it was a book release function that happened in Thrissur as part of commemorating Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary in 2013. “It was not a RSS event,” he said.

Satheesan said that Vivekananda’s take on Hinduism and RSS’s Hindutva are different. “I have always opposed the views of RSS. Even if I have to quit politics, there will not be any truce with communalism,” he said.

He alleged that it was CPM loyalists who are more loyal in spreading false news against him over photos released by BJP leaders.
