Thiruvananthapuram: RSS has stated that it wouldn’t be overseeing Kerala BJP’s expenses for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It is speculated the central BJP leadership has instructed RSS to stay out of Kerala BJP’s financial matters owing to the differences between central leader and party in-charges in Kerala.
It should be noted that there were several allegations against BJP in Kerala connected with their financial transactions during the previous election period. However, the investigations related to these never reached any conclusion, RSS had dubbed this as a failure of the party leadership in Kerala. The party was accused of hawala dealings as well.
It is also rumoured that when it comes to crucial decisions related to the Kerala BJP, the central leadership of the party often relies on information provided by private agencies rather than the feedback provided by the party leaders in Kerala.
However, the party leaders in Kerala are hopeful that the misunderstandings will be sorted out and RSS would pitch in at the right time for them.
Earlier, RSS members used to be appointed for managing BJP’s election chores in the state. It has not been done so far this year. At the moment, the party is relying on other options. Inorder to review the election preparations, a meeting of the state party members chaired by general secretary K Subhash was held in Thiruvananthapuram last month. A few local leaders have been given the charge for coordinating the election preparations as of now.
