Rs 10 lakh should be announced as ex-gratia in Pettimudy also: Chennithala
Munnar: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victims of Pettimudy landslide. As Rs 10 lakh was announced as ex-gratia to the victims of Karipur flight crash, Rs 10 lakh should also be provided for landslide victims, he said while addressing the media in Munnar ahead of visiting Rajamala.
People are anxious about the current situation and the government should consider this, the opposition leader said. Everyone thought that the chief minister will visit Rajamala after visiting Karipur. But he did not visit despite the expectations, Chennithala said.
The chief minister announced Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia for the victims of Karipur flight crash. They will get compensation as insurance also. No matter how much money is provided, it cannot bring back a life. However, the Rs 5 lakh announced for the Pettimudy landslide victims is not sufficient, he added.
We request the chief minister to announce a compensation of Rs 10 lakh in Pettimudy also. He mentioned about some other matters yesterday. The matters of house and job are to be considered only later, Chennithala made it clear.
