Kannur: Sheeba Divakaran, a CPM Panchayat member from Alapadamba, has lodged a complaint against a fellow CPM branch member for reportedly assaulting her after she raised concerns about illegal soil extraction.

Sheeba has brought the issue in front of the Kannur district committee.

As per her statement, she was manhandled for questioning the illegal soil extraction carried out by the CPM members in the 14th ward of Alapadamba panchayat, with the aim of setting up a club.

She also alleged the local leadership of the party vented their anger on her husband by getting him arrested in a fake case.
