Rough seas, high tide likely in 8 districts on Monday

Fishermen have been asked to anchor their fishing boats and fishing equipment in order to protect them.

Thiruvananthapuram: Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services issued a warning that there will be high tide in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on April 13 till 11.30 am. Coastal areas in these districts will witness rough seas and areas below sea level will be the most affected during high tides.

People living in the coastal areas have been warned to stay vigilant. Fishermen have been asked to anchor their fishing boats and fishing equipment in order to protect them.

Also, people living in risk prone areas will have to relocate themselves based on the instructions by the authorities. However, there are no restrictions in place for fishing activities in the state. The order was issued on April 12 at 12 pm.
